Child's Play

My theme was children and their toys. I wanted to have contrasting images of toys that were "abandoned" compared to children playing with their imaginations. I chose to do the images in black and white because I thought they helped convey a more powerful message this way.

I took many trips in this little wagon when I was a boy. It was my own red race car maneuvering around basement studs and cruising down that hill at Child's park (the one that all the kids would talk about). Life is about stopping to observe the little details and buckling up to take the ride of your life.
Living is the adventure.

As you can see, I took pictures of bikes. I made them all black and white with just a highlight of color.

The theme is Red Riding Hood. I am creating a piece for the German Creative Arts Contest and these pictures will hopefully provide good visuals for a storybook I am entering. The format/theme of the contest is "German(y) in my life." The storybook will demonstrate how the Grimm Brothers' fairy tales have shaped and continue to shape the way I ethically live my life.

Up Close

I felt like an absolute pansy taking pictures of flowers on campus with people walking by, but I'm glad I did it. In these five photos I was trying to capture details--especially textures--that I often overlook. I now find myself finding other details on campus that would make interesting for pictures.
