Silence

I took a darker photo and made it darker with an antique kind of blend.  I feel that it portrays that those who suffer from depression have been suffering for a long time.  I like the contrast between the black and the white which makes us question the purpose of color. I want the focus to be more on the STOP then on anything else, because it is the outcome we are hoping for.  I love the idea that silence is a form of communication and that many people simply have to open their ears in order to understand it in a greater way. (I had to take a picture of my picture so it looks slightly different.)

Typography

I made the word "light" stand out in the darkness of the background and the other words in the phrase to make it look like a light. (Clever, I know.) I chose a script type to make it seem more refined compared to the rest of the words, which is part of the call to action in this quote, to be more refined in a world of darkness.

Get Out of Town

I chose to hide portions of my type behind parts of the image that they are on, to symbolize the discovery that comes from getting out of town. I manipulated the size of the text to portray distance in the photo to encourage exploring. 

Jump

My call to action is jump. Stop thinking and just go for it. I used the spacing and arrangement of my word to give the word some life. If someone were to look at this and not know English, they would be able to know what the call to action was anyways. I also used spacing to show movement. As the word goes down towards the water the spacing increases hinting at the gain in momentum. Finally, I chose a very plain font with no capital letters. I wanted this to show that this choice is an easy one. As Shia LaBeouf said, "Do it!". Don't think, just do.
