When I visit new places I am obviously impacted by architecture (my favorite traveling happens in cities) but most often I am most affected by new people and small details. I am also terrible at composing large photos. I was surprised by how easy it was to isolate color palates downtown, and went with the white with grey/brown hues because the textures were the most interesting. I also had some fun conversations with the construction workers who thought the photos were ugly and couldn’t understand why I was taking them; one photo is the plaster covered glove of a worker who sarcastically suggested it would make a nice picture. I wouldn’t call each photo individually engaging, but as a collection of color/texture study and the accompanying experiences I like them. Each is heaviest in the bottom right corner, the only thing aside from color and location that make them cohesive.
