This image doesn't capture me by it's fun colors or interesting design, but rather the subject of the image and what it tells the viewers. When this image surfaced earlier this month, I couldn't look away from my screen. I just looked at the picture and tried to wrap my head around what was happening. Had I not known the subject of the article or understood the context, maybe this could pass as just another ordinary photo. But because of the truth that I know, that this young boy drowned at sea while trying to escape a war-torn home, this photograph pulls at my heart strings completely. Children are so innocent and special and wonderful and to see a young boy's body carried away like this grabs my focus and has all my attention.
