This picture really captivates me because of the incredible colors and the landscape that is depicted. I captured this photo in Newport Beach with my family last summer, we decided to get up to watch the sunrise and although the walk down to the beach that early in the morning was not ideal, this picture made everything worth it. I love the waves receding back to the ocean and the lone island on the right side of the picture. I also feel like the sun and its halo made a beautiful line across the water to draw the viewer to the very center of the photograph. This picture really speaks to me and helps take me back to the calm waters and beautiful sunrise that I saw that morning. I also liked how it conformed to the rule of thirds that we talked about in class, how the water is on one side, the land and rocky side of the beach is on the other with the line of the sun down the middle. This picture helps to calm me down and really focus on one thing at a time. I love this picture because it is so real but encapsulates so much because no two waves coming across the shore will be the same.
