Self-Portrait

I've always been moved by this photography by Dorothea Lange. She said she was drawn to this hungry, well-worn mother and I feel myself drawn to her as well. This is an iconic image of the Great Depression and I think it does an awesome job capturing the feelings and events that were going on during that time in a single snapshot. It is such a powerful shot that makes me feel as though I can put a story with this woman. I almost feel like I can feel what she feels. I know her struggles with trying to help feed her children and raise them in the middle of such a difficult time.
