Self-portrait and Photograph

I'm immediately drawn to the colors in this picture. The bright red doors and shutters, the warm yellow lighting from inside the windows, and ornate carvings on the building and fountain are what drew me in initially. It looks like an art exhibition inside the building. What really makes this picture interesting are all of the different narratives you can see just looking at one side of a building. You get a glimpse at a moment in these people's lives and it's cool to wonder who they are and what they're thinking. Like the man holding a baby on the third floor or the man and woman on the second story balcony. The composition makes the picture even more captivating for me; the way the building fills the whole frame and how each window and door is equally divided.
