Hidden Gems in Provo

When I think of Provo, I often imagine a bunch of young Mormon college kids, living in disintegrating apartments. However, there is a lot more to Provo than meets the eye. From my walk downtown, I quickly discovered that there is another culture in Provo that I really haven't even considered.
This house is vastly different from all the other houses that I've noticed in Provo. The style seems much older, despite the fact that most buildings in Provo are old. I really liked the Roman influence, and it surprised me that it was actually someone's home. The bigger houses in Provo tend to be offices.

There was also some creative graffiti, which all tended to be advertisements for businesses. I found it interesting that businesses used this method to attract customers, instead of more formal advertising. Perhaps, they were trying to give their businesses a word-of-mouth appeal.
I found this truck to be particularly telling of Provo culture. The name of the catering company is "Ring Co.", which of course suggests weddings. Even the font looks like the fonts used on wedding invitations. This company's existence definitely speaks of the marriage craze in Provo.
Finally, I found this church. It's always interesting to me to see other churches in Provo because the town is so heavily influenced by the LDS Church. This church was very small and somewhat run-down, but I found it to be very beautiful. I've only ever seen one other non-LDS church in Provo, and it always makes me wonder who it is that goes to these churches. The only people I know from Provo are all LDS.
