Semi-ruins

So for one of my earlier posts I did a birthday "tag" for my two sisters and my mom and for this project I wanted to go back to the scene of the crime to see if it was still there and to take so pictures of the beautiful landscapes. My art was still there! (The three squares on the little ledge to the left of center.)

I took these pictures starting at the top facing the remains of an old smelting factory and slowly moved down the steep hillside gradually turning the camera toward the nature below. Most of the other countries around the world have glorious ancient ruins, but our country doesn't have enough history behind it. What we do have are the remains of buildings that propelled our country's prominence during the Industrial Revolution.
In my mind this condemned structure is deteriorating from its American working glory back to nature. But even as it crumbles back to the earth, it is still contributing by being a semi-ruinous canvas for artists to create things of beauty.

And the view from this ruin was absolutely stunning.
