Finer things Provo

Downtown Provo is a definite gem. There no place like it in Provo, it has it’s own culture and stores that are only unique to the area. I was walking down the sidewalk and I noticed the India flag flying high. I have eaten there before but I never noticed those flags. I went to India last year and I brought me back to the culture shock I experienced. India is an overload of the senses and there is nothing quite like it. When I walked into the restaurant, the smells are the same as the burnt offerings on everyone’s doorstep. Two flags represent such different things and I just really liked how this was a perfect example of a clash of cultures.

This statue I drive by every week and everyone knows that it is a symbol of NuSkin, but rarely do I actually stop to look at it. I stood there wondering what they were trying to represent with the kids around the world. Yes it is a worldwide company but I was just curious what the NuSkin was going for with the meaning behind it. We can see that their logo is clearly shown as the foundation. Another part of this picture that I liked was that I never noticed that the building had mirror windows. People get off the freeway everyday but we rarely notice what we are driving by.

I know this looks like just a banner for a store but if you look closer then you can see that it was printed over a NuSkin logo. Something so simple tells a huge story. With the huge NuSkin building across the street, it shows the gradual growth of what a company can become. I’ve passed this boutique multiple times, never have walked in, but I thought it was interesting that when I stopped to actually look, the first thing I noticed the previous NuSkin sign. Talk about selective seeing.

I loved this little sign. I never saw it before but I like how blatant and obvious it is. I think it is a perfect example of the changing world around us. It is clearly shown that this is a social media tag. If we think back to 5 years ago, social was not anywhere near where it is today. People were just barely getting twitter and now to see this sign in downtown Provo, it is fascinating to me. It is purely there for social media purposes. The perception of making this sign is that it will make people come into their store. Little things like make me smile.
These plants I thought were really ironic. For something that is so natural and authentic but yet they were in the most organized rows. Not only did they have perfect spacing, they each had the same shape and size to them. It can almost be called the balance of opposites. Plants and nature take no shape or form. That’s why we love nature, it is rarely touched or manipulated by man. These plants here were forced into a mold which if we think about it could represent a lot of things in life. Overall, I had never noticed these perfectly planted greens. Someone put a lot of effort into this garden area and it goes unnoticed.
