I sat in the basketball gym and looked up at the ceiling, which had varying layers and levels. The spaces in each level held soccer balls, basketballs and footballs. The arrangement looked random because of the differing times and ways each of the pieces of equipment ended up there. On the walls, there were scuffs most likely from basketballs and athletes hitting them. The chairs and benches were worn and looked like many people, both fans and players, had come and gone.
Each of these pieces of accidental art tell a story and form the perception each of us have when entering certain rooms and buildings. They make the room sentimental and full of memory and meaning. The only thing we need to do for rooms to come alive is pay more attention to our surroundings.
