The Signifier: This is an Ad done by Play-Doh. Its a chainsaw that is created out of play-doh of many colors. The tagline at the bottom states "Safe no matter what you make"

The Signified: There a few interpretations that you could take from this advertisement. The one that sticks out most to me is that kids will get into things, and sometimes they can get hurt from their curiosity. Allowing kids to play with play-doh helps them play in a safe environment, and keeps them out of trouble. This image makes parents think about 1. what possible things they have a their home that could hurt their children, and 2. the things their children could make with this dough. It does hit on the key emotional insight that parts worry about their children, and that play-doh will keep thine safe. in my opinion, i think its effective.
