This ad is simply a ketchup bottle that has been made to look like a tomato that has been cut up. The imagery that it portrays is pretty powerful. Ketchup is generally considered to be full of sugar, unhealthy, and something only used for meals that are of a lower class. Here Heinz uses the imagery of the bottle cut up in to pieces like a tomato with a tomato cap on the top, combined with the words "No one grows ketchup like Heinz" to show that Heinz ketchup is not only fresh but healthy (whether it is true or not). It does this by reminding the viewer that Heinz Ketchup is made from tomatoes. Although it is simple the entire Semiotics are very powerful. Even the simple use of the word Grow instead of make shows the freshness of the product.
