Wandering
This experience helped me realize the value of challenging our comfort zone and responding to instinct. I went on a wander at about 11 o clock, just after having put some cookies in the oven to bake, but feeling restless, I decided to go outside and begin to explore. My wander began on following an instinct or subtle impression. My wandering took me through apartment buildings and parking lots, past pools and playgrounds, directly in front of doors and beneath street lights and stars. I remember focusing at first on where I was going (even though the objective was not to do this) and it was actually hard to try and loose my sense of direction. I still remember the moment when the thought popped into my mind "wow, this is a waste of time". From that point on I think I really began to learn. Just as the instructions said, it was the moment I began to successfully explore. I noticed that time seemed so much less relevant and I was able to more fully engage in the spaces in which I was traveling. This was an empowering feeling and filled me with interest. The best part came on the return journey back home when I ran into a few friends and was able to invite them over for some cookies, meaning that had I not wandered, I would still have been alone.
good insights with the difficulties of this assignment
