Accidental Art

This Accidental Art activity was an eye-opening exercise. The assignment where we walked through downtown Provo was interesting because it helped me start learning to notice small details around me that usually get overlooked, but I thought this assignment took it to the next level because I had to look for patterns and designs that would qualify more as "art" in the smaller details around me. It was a neat experience to see that there is art and beauty all around.

This is some scaffolding outside my apartment building. The construction they do here is annoying at 6 am when you're trying to sleep, but the symmetrical patterns of "x"s and triangles are an impressive sight.

This red brick is out of place here, but it's a cool contrast to the pile of rocks it ended up in.

I noticed a green lawn that had a small patch of white flowers clustered in one corner of it. The white flowers gave the lawn a polka-dotted effect.

The up-close perspective was worth the closer view.

Looking closely at this tree, I noticed what looked like the face of a man with a beard. The eye is in the top left corner, the nose is halfway down the right-hand side, and the beard/mouth are in the lower right-hand corner.

This pattern was found on the side of an electric box. I would usually overlook this, but up close the smooth patterns were worth stopping to see.
