What if dogs owned humans as pets??

That was the question that I thought about throughout the day today. I wanted it to be a pretty creative question that needed imagination to understand. I began with my family’s dog Axel. He is a shitzu poodle mix so he is a little guy. And I imagined him taking my sisters out on walks. Making them jump through hoops for food. Putting them on leashes. Making them sleep in a pen in the basement. So their lives would obviously change.

I thought about how the dogs would show off their human pets. They would put them in shows to see who was the most beautiful. This would make the humans feel great I am sure… They would use the humans to get food for them, like inverse hunting. Right now bird dogs assist in hunting for humans, so maybe humans would assist dogs by going to the store and getting their favorite chow.

The more I wrote and thought about it, dogs already do in a way rule the humans. My sisters always are fighting about who will take the dog out, because they don’t want to, so in essence, the dog is making them go out for a walk. The same is true for food. The human goes out and gets all of the food that his dog needs. Many people’s lives revolve around dogs. The dogs make the humans do so many things to be comfortable. So in a way, dogs already are in a power position with their human masters.
