Mozel Tov from the Jews

Jews rock awesome beards and hate to walk
From my search of the Jewish culture in modern American Media I have discovered that Jews are a weird  group of people. All of them rock funny hair cuts and long beards. They don't like their heads being cold so they always wear a little hat on the top of their head. Even though they like to keep their heads warm their souls are cold because they are greedy and care only about money. While doing business to gain money they talk funny and say weird words like "Schmuck" and "Oh Vey". Every year they take a break from trying to gain money to celebrate a large festival of  lights. This is a 12 day festival where people give gifts like dradels and other unknown artifacts. The Jews start very young learning about their traditions. Whey they are young boys they have to memorize the whole bible and have crazy hair to deter the opposite sex from distracting them.

This single story is extremely prejudice and pretty inaccurate. It takes old stereotypes and applies them to all modern Jews. Yes there are a few orthodox Jews that dress and look that way but majority just look like normal people. Jews have always been known for their inherent financial skills because of their thrifty history. They have always had to be savers and make due with what they have because of hardships from the past. This is a trait that is passed down from generation to generation, trust me I know because my family is Jewish. It is true that Jews do speak Yiddish but just every once in a while and most of it is done in humor or out of anger. Media is starting to pick up on the humor of yiddish and it is starting to be seen in more mainstream media.

Social implications of this are Jews are not helpful to society at all. Just greedy and concerned about themselves. This is not true at all Jews are fantastic citizens that contribute to society in many ways.

In conclusion its amazing to see how the media uses stereotype. Most of these are harmful and exaggerated to the extreme. Jews really do speak yiddish and have a knack for being thrifty but are not greedy, weird dressing, bible memorizing people. They are normal human beings that most people can't pick out of a crowd.

  2. There are also a lot of stereotypes for non-orthodox Jews. Seinfeld anyone?

  3. Jews are represented so poorly in the media. In many places around the world, they are looked down on and still treated terribly.

  4. It's so true that a group like this can be judged based off a few examples. And even then, they shouldn't be judged either. A person is a person and shouldn't looked down upon for being different. We've adopted plenty of things from other cultures.
