Phoblography.



For this photo, I set the couple on the left third, using the path on the right to balance the asymmetrical composition. The shallow depth of field at this focal length (50mm at f/1.2) allows the context of the couple to be seen, but the details are blurred enough not to distract from the subject.


For this photo, I used a little more of a humble setup as the zipper of my camera bag jammed. The bilateral symmetry of this photo is shown not only in the lines of the sidewalk and the road, but with the colors of the trees and the cars on either side of the sidewalk.


This photo exhibits both bilateral and radial symmetry. I used an f/2.8 aperture to allow the background lines to come into focus just as they lead to the subject, a Canon kit lens.
