Women not learn Math science or other because they can not but because the many stereotypes. Women also have had throughout history many serious challenges entering the world of science and specifically in mathematics. They have to fight for their ideals, to reach their goals and purposes, finally getting places for each university, which made great discoveries, many of them very important.
The main problem facing women is self-esteem. This is due to the way women are treated either by their parents, by their partners and even educational institutions . In a subtle way or or sometimes not so much the teachers themselves don't encourage or limit the inclusion of women in science, which leads to low self-esteem. Another problem they face are cultural stereotypes people usually think that someone in science is usually antisocial and nerd. The stereotypes that mass media give to women is pathetic: We a woman can not be smart, leading many women choose not to study anything regarding the exact sciences. Also, we are associated with superficiality, motherhood and domestic chores.
We can see this even in our own campus if we walk into any stem class we will see a gender disparity: Fewer women than men seem to go into fields involving science, engineering, technology and mathematics. Math and logical skills are seen as something manly. Personally, I have seen girl friend trying to go to science specifically engineering and other friends ask them why they are studying. Also, they asked me how they are going to balance their families and careers almost suggesting that they won't be good mothers because they will be more focused on their career.
For too many women, for too long, life as a serious scientist has seemed unobtainable or, perhaps worse, so unpleasant that they have no desire to battle on; they give up the good fight in increasing numbers as they move along the ladder. It isn't usually a case of overt discrimination; it isn't even something as simple to fix as provision of good child.
