I created this flower in illustrator. When looking at this flower we can tell that each part is separated from the others, but because of the gestalt principle of proximity/closure we combine them into a whole and come to the idea of a flower. Also because of the line (the green stem) our eye travels from one side of the picture to the flower, which is the gestalt principle of continuation.
