Gestalt

My first image I used the similarity element. When you see all these cats places perfectly together your brain stats to see them as a pattern. For me I am quick to notice the white space.

My second image I used a Closure element. We can tell that the text reads army, but there are parts of the text that have been removed. There are also parts of the text color that have been changed. our brain fills in those gaps.
