I chose this image because it shows bravery in a visually symbolic way. We know this marine is jumping out of a plane, but we don't see what he's jumping into. In fact, he's not even looking at what he's jumping into. To me, this symbolizes love of country more than love of self. This man is jumping into the unknown, all because he serves his country. Many skydiving pictures show the ground--this one shows the sky. It shows a determination--he's just looking at the camera, not at all second guessing his decision to jump.
