I've walked the streets of downtown Provo many times over the years. My attention is usually drawn to sights like the Provo temple, my friend's restaurant sign, or the inside of the Velour music venue. However, tonight I walked slowly down the lit streets of Center Street and kept my eyes peeled for seemingly insignificant things a passerby wouldn't notice. I realized some of the edging on buildings were decorated with faces gazing down on the street below. I noticed a chalk sign on the ground that said "Stay hungry stay foolish" with an intriguing Twitter account listed below. I discovered a beautiful ocean life mural that I've taken pictures in front of before has stained glass windows at the very top, depicting various musical instruments. I took the time to actually read the posters on the side of the street announcing future concerts. I also passed by the Latin American festival and saw people dancing in beautiful clothing as they celebrated their culture. Downtown Provo has many sights to offer and I plan to pay more attention next time I walk through its streets.
