Embrace Chaos

Embrace Chaos. Right when we got this assignment, I began thinking about my life and about the lives of many students at BYU. They are so chaotic! It's unlikely that we will be able to stop the chaos, so we must learn to embrace it.

Typography: I used a different font for each of the letters in the word "chaos" to emphasize unpredictability. The word "embrace" is much bigger for emphasis. I wanted to drive home the fact that we should learn to EMBRACE chaos. The word "embrace" is also arched to look like it is physically embracing the "chaos." I feel the font has a very soothing, and almost playful quality. If this font were a person, it wouldn't take itself too seriously.

Color: I wanted the word "embrace" to seem peaceful, yet stand out. The cloudy white is a very serene color, and it stands out nicely against the blue, which is also serene. The c, h, a, o, and s were meant to jump off the page a little bit and look disorganized, yet still feasibly form a word (like organized chaos). I used kuler to find some complimentary colors that were also very loud. I also used varying fonts, colors, and sizes to enhance the whole look. The frantically scribbled lines are meant to add to the chaos
