For this project I used the gestalt principle of FIGURE/GROUND: depending on where you look on the picture, the foreground and background shift. The background is pink...but if you look at the face figure, the background seems to transform into the foreground.

I also used the gestalt principle of CLOSURE: although the words are not completely legible, the viewer's brain can still understand the parts that are legible and understand the meaning. The face is covered by various lines, however, the viewer can still recognize the iconic face.

Finally, I used the gestalt principle of CONTINUITY: Throughout the image, there are vertical and horizontal lines that cross. The lines change colors at different parts of the image, shifting from black to pink.
