For this assignment, I used a silly picture I made with paint one day when I was bored and didn't want to prepare for a trig test. I'm no artist, but I do see now how I (unknowingly) used Gestalt principles in creating this picture.

I created the "flower" on the left by using an online graphing tool. I just typed in equations and got this result. The Gestalt principle demonstrated here is
continuity. Looking at the middle of the "flower", all we see is a blue blob, but then multiple lines extend from the circle's center, drawing the eye outward.
The words and blocks on the right show another Gestalt principle: Similarity. Even though the font of each letter is different and they're not spaced very close to each other, it's clear they all form one word. The black boxes also keep the letters grouped together in one common space.
Here is an example of the Gestalt principle of continuity found in "nature". The telephone poles are set up in a way that causes the eye to follow from one pole to the next, all the way until the poles are indistinguishable.
