I love random and what I like about the Gestalt principles is that we find them intentionally placed in images, but we also use them to make sense of whatever we see. For my design I took a random theme (food..) and tried to take images with a basic understood meaning and find another using Gestalt principles. The two principles here are proximity/similarity and closure. We take these images and automatically group them by where they sit and also what they contain. In this design we group the top images together and the bottom group of images. It makes sense because of proximity as well as our mind associating by similar theme (lunch vs breakfast). Closure also comes into play and we group the objects and see a face. It only has two elements of a face but we cans till create a full image. It can also be argued there is some figure/ground because of the way the mind organizes the objects into something other than food lying there. I love food and often find images in them so if you don't see the faces till you read. Don't judge. These are all images from my life save for the eggs because I prefer scrambled.
This is the photo I took. This is in the library No Shhh zone. The principle I chose is closure. The bubble on the right is not complete, but we still fill it in and imagine it as a full text bubble with a portion lying behind another object.
