Slow Down Typography

I thought that by adjusting the "kerning" of words I could make them appear to be slowing down.
The space between the individuals letter is large at one end, small on the other. This makes the ends of the word (or beginning, in the word "Down" of the first picture) seem to slow and stop. Kind of like how a traffic jam, if seen from above, would show the cars in the jam in close proximity, and before and after the jam more spread apart. The slanting of the words also indicates forward motion.
I also compressed the size of these "squished" letters to make them just barely smaller, as if they were crumpling on impact.
Hopefully this would bring those slow motion car crash commercials to mind through a print format and remind people to drive safely.
