Color Theory/Gestalt Theory (Jhonatan Larrocha)

Color Theory Assignment: For this assignment, I decided to take a black and white picture and add some harmonious colors to it to liven it up. I used purple shades for the darker elements (such as the pavement and trees) so they could contrast with the green and blue tinted grass and sky/leaves, respectively. When I tried changing the color of the bench a couple of times (sometimes adding shades, sometimes tints), it instead created a mesh of them both - giving it a greenish/blueish tone. Even though the colors chosen were harmonious, they contrasted quite well just by using tints against shades and so forth.

Gestalt Theory Assignment: I found a picture of a young Steve Jobs and decided to manipulate it. I applied three gestalt principles. First, there's Closure on the image of Steve himself - even though there are parts missing, we close the gaps with our mind. Second, there's Similarity - Steve himself and his suit and tie are one color, setting it apart from the apple. Third, there's Continuation by having a black band that contrasts with the white background and leads the viewer from the apple to the text and vice versa.
