Semiotics #2

Semiotics #2

I found these sculptures that are displayed in Denmark. If we look at these sculptures from a literal perspective, they appear as wood structures that are half human, half robotic looking. However, the further we analyze these sculptures there are many possibilities as to hidden messages within. One could be that the author was trying to depict mankind as robotic, and lacking in individuality. The way the sculptures are lined up in a row, all with the same posture and facial expression could represent that humans are becoming less of an individual and more robotic. Also, because the sculptures are outside it could also represent they have all the freedom to roam outdoors, yet they all follow each other in an orderly line.
