What is the signifier? The signifier is a bronze statue in the likeness of a massive bull. The bull is in an aggressive position with a fierce look on its face. From the head on view, you can see that the bull seems as if it is trying to see around something.
What does it signify? The bull is traditionally a symbol of fearlessness and aggression. In that aspect, the bull could represent moving on from failure with fearlessness, determined to succeed.
The bull also is a symbol of prosperity and wealth.
The bull seems as if it is trying to see around something. Bulls are famous for being deceived by men with red sheets who misdirect them and eventually kill them. This bull is looking around the red sheet, this bull will not be misled or deceived, and it will always survive.

What specifically supports your analyses? The statue is located near the New York Stock Exchange. It was put there not long after a large stock market crash in 1989. The NYSE is the major hub of wealth in America. The statue of the bull is meant to act as inspiration to the people who interact with the stock market and to build stock market confidence in the average citizen.
