Semiotics #2

When you first looked at this picture it just looked like a pretty women advertising perfume with a lion, however when you study the image and think deeper about the meaning you start to understand how the symbolic it is.

The lion is known as the king of the jungle, the lion is the animal that is in charge. This power is supposed to represent the power this perfume will have over others. This perfume will not only make you beautiful like the women but it will make you powerful and in control.

The lion is thought to be a scary animal, but in this picture they make the lion look calm and collected because they don’t want you to react negatively to the scary looking lion, they want you to think of the lion as something unique and cool.

The women is wearing very fancy and large jewelry, this clearly shows that she is rich. This is symbolize that if you wear this perfume you will also be living the rich and famous lifestyle that everyone dreams of.

The women in the ad is wearing a wedding ring, I think this is to show class. The woman is dressed a little scandalous, but when you notice her wedding ring she instantly seems less scandalous because you assume she is wearing this seductive perfume for her husband.

On the same not as the wedding ring, it makes you believe that your husband or significant other will find you as beautiful and seductive as this women if you wear the ring, because clearly this perfume helped her get a husband.
