Photo Analysis

Subject/Background: The orange car in the foreground is very clearly the subject, despite a number of distractions (the tree, signs, other cars, and trees) because of its color and positioning. It's eye catching and stands out. The eye is drawn to the orange car first and everything else is simply an addition to it. It fills a large portion of the shot and is nearly centered.

Balance: This shot features two construction vehicles that work together to create an interesting balance. It is asymmetrical. The excavator in the foreground appears larger(even though it's not) and fills the picture from top to bottom. The repetitive shape given by the excavator in the back acts an echo as is visually interesting. It is a fairly busy photo, lacks symmetry, but feels balanced due to repetitive and bottom-heavy shapes.

Point of View: I was able to get extremely low for this shot with the help of some stairs. The shot is taken from the ground, giving the viewer a fallen leaf's perspective. The dark and blurry leaves in the foreground fill up about half the shot and act as good contrast to the crisp and beautiful trees in the sunlight. I imagine the leaves look up at the trees, feeling like they've dropped to the ground and forsaken, being too old and ugly to be part of the beautiful trees anymore.
