I wanted to make our dog the focus of the picture, while also including other aspects as well. Like the iPhone photographer we watched a video about, I focused on my subject, which was the dog. You can see my Mom in the background, but she is a little bit out of focus, and off to the side. Half of my Dad can be seen in this picture as well, but still the focus is on my dog in the center of the picture.
Here I tried to show balance in a handful of candy. I put the yellow banana runts in such a way that they divided the other colors in a balanced way. The idea is that there is not too much color in a specific place, rather that color is divided. Balance is achieved in creating an aesthetic separation of colors.
These are some delicious rolls that my wife made. I played with point of view here by focusing on a corner of the pan, and focusing my camera on the roll in the center of the image. My goal with this point of view is to be like that of a child who is extremely excited to eat, and is just staring at the food. Which pretty much was the situation I was in when I took this picture. Hopefully the smell, texture, and warmth of the rolls kinda comes through in this point of view.
