This first photo illustrates the subject and background. The subject here would be the "quiet sign" sitting on the table, it being the part of the picture in focus. The rest of the rows of tables and bookshelves, out of focus, would be the background in this case.
Here we have a Balance effect happening. The dinosaur is the only thing in the lower half of the photo, and pretty much all there is on the left side of it. There are a few things up in the top right corner, different remote controls and controllers, that tend to balance out the big green dinosaur in the picture as a whole. Also, the controls being different colors helps out with the balancing of the photo in terms of color.
This last shot is from the point of view of the jack-o-lantern on our front porch. It isn't the most exciting thing to be staring at all day, but it definitely is a different angle than the one you would normally see walking in or out of the apartment.
