SWKT, irons, church pews

I love the balance of this image. The moon gave off a really unique glare that complemented the lit room in the lower half of the image and the SWKT on the lefthand side. I find that this triangular shape drawn between the three main subjects is very pleasing to the eye. The weight of the tower balances out the bright moon and the lit room adds a sort of base to the image. As we discussed in class, black holds a lot of weight, but because the whole image is dark I found the balance still worked.

I whipped out the tried and true telephoto lens to take this photo. The subject is the iron as it is the only thing in full focus. The background and foreground are still clearly visible and I think it adds an interesting dimensionality.  I am about 8 feet away from the iron and the back wall is another 4 feet back. I purposely framed it this way because it feels slightly cramped and condensed. However, it is clear that the iron is what you should focus on.

This photo was definitely the most fun to take. While at church on Sunday I paid particular attention to a young boy seated on the row in front of me. He got slightly fidgety and decided to lay on the floor underneath the pew. I then remembered of how I used to do the same thing when I was young. I decided then to take a POV shot of what it looked like from the perspective of a child at church. I simply placed my phone on the floor and shot a picture of the rows in front of me. I think it is a very interesting shot as it is a view we never see as adults, yet we saw multiple times as a child.
