New and Old in Downtown Provo

Downtown Provo is one of my favorite places. I am pretty familiar with the area, but as I walked around this last time I noticed a variety of things that were new. Many of these things are new to Downtown Provo itself, while others are actually very old, but new to me. The french bakery and Walaroo media store are both new to Downtown Provo.New companies and restaurants are constantly coming to Provo. However, the historical sign and statue have been in Provo for many years. I walk past these historical things every day without noticing them. When I really took time to take in my surrounding I was able to appreciate the history of the city. The guitar in the middle is a mix of old and new. The store where I found the guitar, The Great Salt Lake Guitar Co., is not new. However, the type of guitar, Merlin, is actually brand new. This Merlin guitar is a new way to play with only three strings and a new design which lets the play play basically anytime of song. The mix of old and new in Downtown Provo are what gives the town its charm.
