Perception #1: Shannon Havlicak

I was going to go to Center Street during the week to capture the hustle bustle there, but I thought that was too common and decided to capture life there on a Sunday. Turned out to be very different in the city of Provo from any other day.

When I approached this usually very popular restaurant and cafe I noticed it was not only empty, but closed, with the chairs stacked up in the window as a display that this business chooses to not work on Sundays.

Another bustling business closed here. This also reflects a common part of Provo culture--the business of food trucks and small locally owned businesses.

While I struggled to find anyone walking along Center street, I did manage to find a collection of various groups of people gathered around the temple grounds. Some came to sit and ponder, others came with significant others, either way it was a beautiful sign of devotion and respect for the sabbath.

As stated before I could not find a single person walking down center street, it was almost like a ghost town. Another element I notice in the town of Provo is the diversity--it is hard to see the signs but in this photo there is a Belgium flag, a Japanese, Chinese, and American restaurant.

While the town may be very diverse their is the constant loyalty to our country that is apparent atop the major business buildings downtown.
