We have a dead bird in our driveway. It's been there a looooooong time. There's not much left of it except it's wings and a hollowed out chest cavity. I see it every day as I'm walking to and from our home, but I've never thought much of it other than it's a dead bird. For a couple weeks now, I've looked at it in passing no less than twice a day, yet it's never really seemed remarkable. Until today. I suppose it was the fact that I was trying to find some accidental art, but when I saw it heading in to our home, I paused. Cocking my head I noticed that the grass and weeds growing around it seemed to give it an almost comet-like appearance. Given the fact that angels are most often attributed with the features of birds, I found it somewhat artistic. The fall of an angel as it fell from the heavens. Maybe I'm looking to deep into an act of nature, but the dead bird in our driveway is no longer just a dead bird. It's a dead bird angel in a grassy comet.
Aww...interesting thoughts and comments about this photo. There is something beautiful about nature...even in death.
ReplyDeleteI like how you had seen this many times before, but now it has a bit more meaning than before. Nice.
