A few days ago I was driving down the road and heard this thud so I pulled over and found that I had ran over a 1 inch nail in diameter and it was lodged in my tire. So I had to take my car to the shop and pay to have the nail taken out and the tire plugged. I was pretty bitter about it up until we were assigned this project. I didn't have to walk very far in my search for art before I noticed this little yellow arrow on my tire that I had never noticed before. I kind of brushed it off at first and kept walking around thinking I would find something better than an arrow on a tire but for some reason I couldn't stop thinking about symbolism with that little arrow.
For me this arrow was more than just some lines on a tire. It spoke to me on a spiritual level. When I think of a circle it reminds me of eternity. Something that is never ending, much like a tire. And the arrow on the tire is like direction from our Heavenly Father. He can only give us so many "hints"in our life and we should take advantage of those opportunities. The ability to listen to the spirit is much like seeing this arrow. It's small and can go unnoticed unless we search out our Heavenly Father's help.
It's amazing to me that to the mechanic that drew this arrow on my tire it was just a marking point for the air valve. But for me it was truly a spiritually enlightening experience. I might even be a little grateful for running over that nail.
I like this thought.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting thought. I love that you were able to find a spiritual connection to something that most people wouldn't even notice on their tire. I love these small reminders from the Spirit, of the love that Heavenly Father has for each of us personally.

ReplyDeletethanks for sharing this thought. I have never ever thought of a tire (circle) is somehow symbolizing eternity until you mentioned it :) And thanks HF for giving us His "hints" in our lives!
ReplyDeleteI love how you tied this in with gospel principles. It is such a simple arrow, yet so symbolic. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteGood insight.
