Joyeux Anniversaire Ma Famille!
My moms and my two sisters birthdays are all in the same week, and for their birthdays this year I wanted to do something that actually took effort but didn't cost anything because I wanted to show them that I really do care so much for them, but I'm just a poor lowly college student. I also had been wanting to do something with the spray paint I've had stored away so I went out to an abandoned factory which has become a graffiti hub, and made a tag for each of them.
The stencil and the colors are both representative of their personalities and interests. My mom is a very strong, independent woman who loves red and the sun, and she is also the sun of our family's universe. Then there's my oldest sister who loves bright, off-puting things such as the color orange and who is an incredible musician and singer (and not like the stereotypical, boring LDS voice, I mean a REAL singer). And lastly, my sister who is just 11 months older than me: She is always keeping up with the latest trends, like the love for mint green or choral like I used for her background, and who thinks she is a paleontologist, when really she is a 5th grade school teacher who's obsessed with dinosaurs.
I don't know how long those tags are going to last, but it just felt amazing to go out and actually do something for the ones I love so much. And in my mind, I can pretend I made something for each of them that's going to last much longer than a new shirt or a gift card to Olive Garden. Happy Birthday my family!
