I saw this advertisement as I was perusing some images online and it really stuck out to me. I realize that it's an advertisement about vodka, but they really have a good handle on the principles of closure and proximity. Because of the way the eyes are placed, our mind fills in the missing lines to make a bottle. Had the eyes all been scattered, we wouldn't have been able to perceive this image.
And this is the image I created. It also uses the principles of closure and proximity. Despite obvious reasons for why this image would be themed around love, the idea I was going for was life. And how hearts are a symbol of life. For that, I tried to make the image portray how every aspect of nature gives life to that around it. The leaves of the tree are just some very closely placed green hearts. The mind creates the image of a leafy tree. The sun, though it is simply some lines, creates the image in our mind of a heart as well. The grass around the bottom of the tree are hearts as well, but upon first look, our mind perceives greenery.
