Okay fine, I did six photos. But it was way hard to narrow it down.
I wanted to tell a story about my wife making pie. She's a master baker and the aroma of fresh pie frequents our home (I know I'm lucky). My objective was to take this semi-common everyday occurrence and find beauty in its process. At first it was hard. Forget 50-75 pictures, I took like 300+. I struggled to see anything unique or special through the lens of my camera, so I refrained from clicking the shutter. I realized, though, that I was stunting my creative flow and decided to snap away with no inhibitions.
I tried to see the activity from different angles and points-of-view. I realized that the composition techniques we discussed in class help to add interest to the shots. I felt like these six images told the story of some lady making pie. But more than that, I feel like they give an insight into the beautiful details involved in the process of creation.
