Gestalt Theory

I made this illustration of a deer using the principles of closure and proximity.  There aren't continuous lines that connect the shape of the deer but the eye sees the different shapes and closes the figure.  Although the illustration is  made up of 8 different shapes, they are in close proximity and are perceived as one group.
