In an arts and humanities class, I was told that expressions of art was one of the best ways to understand a time period and a group of people. I had that very thought going through my mind as I walked through center street. The variety of images I captures really displayed how Provo culture wants to be perceived. I got the feeling of an all-encompasing theme. The first image was one of my favorites—it’s sign is old fashioned with a broken-down look. This shows that Provo likes the old-fashioned styles and supports certain lifestyles pertaining to it. The second image I also loved because it shows how Provo wants to be diverse—you’ve got Asian lanterns with a French bakery in the background. The third image displays a similar feel to the first image. It also reflects the town’s support of academics and literature. The fourth image shows traditional art, which a contrast to the last image displaying a more modern art.  My discoveries were that Provo does a great job with bringing in diversity—it’s all-encompasing and accepting. This is something I hadn't really thought of before after living in Provo for three years.
