Perception #1 - Elizabeth Gillespie

I see myself as very familiar with the downtown Provo area. I spent many summers here growing up and I spend quite a bit of time in the area on weekend dates or early morning jogs. However, as I fulfilled this assignment and took a closer look at what downtown Provo has to offer, I discovered that there is a lot I have not even seen before. Here are a few pictures of what I found:

I love this blue house! It is a little older but the paint is pretty fresh, and against the dark sky and the faded green grass, I thought it looked so artistic.

I couldn't even make out what used to be written on this unkept wall. Although the writing is faded, I thought the reds, yellows and oranges against the old writing were really beautiful.

I know...there is always some kind of construction going on in Provo. However, this was fairly close to my house and I had never even noticed the crane before! I don't know how long ago this equipment arrived, but it was the first time I had noticed it.

I wish I knew the history behind each old home in Provo. Many have been renovated or kept up nicely. This is one of those homes I observed during the assignment. Just look at the columns and the detail up top near the roof! It's lovely. (Please, if any students in this class happen to live here, let me take a tour of the house!)

I have heard of this restaurant but never knew exactly where it was. During this assignment, I finally discovered its location! My sister served her mission in the Dominican Republic, so she has been dying to take me here to eat.

I can't believe I never knew this existed! I'm not sure if the food is any good, but I am stoked to give it a try. I love authentic restaurants, and I am taking a trip to Italy this summer so I will definitely eat here in preparation.
