photography composition-sebastian meyer

For my photographs, I decided to take pictures of an event I was a part of. On Saturday, I played organ in a space rock opera at Velour. It was the culminating performance of months of preperation and hard work, and I wanted to try and capture all of the effort we put in over so much time.

Most of these photographs are from the dress rehearsal and pre-show on the day of our performance.

Perspective: For this photo, I wanted to capture the perspective that I had during the show. Some people don't ever get the opportunity to stand behind a mic and be on stage, and I am so grateful that I get to, so I wanted to capture how that felt.

Balance: In this photograph, I tried to balance my subject, a character in the rock opera, and a description of what the show felt like to us. I like this photograph because the character is a futuristic robot, but the banner has a very classic and vintage feel to it.
Composition: When I took this photograph, I was hanging lights up behind the stage when I saw my brother, our drummer, sitting behind his drumset. I liked how it looked with the shiny drums reflecting lights and the chandelier sitting above it all.
I've included some more pictures that I liked from that night.
