I just celebrated my big 2-1 yesterday, so I figured that it would be the perfect thing to use for this assignment. The funny thing about it is that for most 21 year olds in the non-BYU/Mormon world, the 21st birthday would be stereotyped as a day to celebrate a legal age to party and to drink and to go to Vegas. In our world, it means so much more. The message that I was trying to get across in these pictures is that birthdays should be a symbol of celebrating a special person. I know that I was completely overwhelmed by all the love that I felt, and these pictures kind of show a little bit of how I felt so much love. The gifts, the cake, the surprise balloons, the kisses, the heartfelt card, and just the quality and genuine time and thoughts that I received truly made me feel so special. I feel like that is how birthdays should be!
