Colorfully and beautifully dying all around us—Trees.

Autumn is a beautiful time—to die. The amazing array of colors and shapes that trees take on during the autumn season is an everyday beauty that is too often overlooked. These pictures that I took tell the story of Autumn through the eyes of many trees. Some are still vibrant yellows, greens and reds; while others, are all but skeletons beaten barren by the morning Autumn frost.

The pictures tell the story of these trees without distraction of people, buildings or other elements. These trees are the protagonists. Just as we often fail to notice our surroundings when we are distressed and undergoing change, these trees fail to notice us when they are undergoing change, taking in their last breaths of light, and preparing for the hard winter ahead. These are their stories. Can you hear them?
