Perspective- Jenessa Nielsen

I have been to downtown Provo more times than I can count.  I love to run the streets as part of my work out or walk them with friends in the evening. However, this time was different. This time I went and actually saw the things I looked at. When I go on vacation I always try to soak everything in, but oftentimes when I'm just in a "normal" place, I fail to see or notice the things around me. This exercise was cool because it allowed me to see Provo with a new perspective and made me very aware of the things around me. Here are some of the things I noticed for the first time:

I have run past this place so many times but if you showed me a picture of it and asked me where it was, I would not be able to tell you until now.
I have never noticed the "Provo Meat & Packing Co" on top before.
I found this cute heart made out of pictures. I did not know that there was a printing place there.

I found Christmas decorations! They had wreaths and giant snowflakes up still at this Italian restaurant and I didn't notice them until I was really looking at the things around me.
I found a "kissing point" on Center Street that I have probably walked under a million times and I have never noticed before.

I made many mores discoveries than just these. This exercise inspired me to pay more attention to the world around me and look at life with a fresh perspective. Doing so makes life much more enjoyable and reminds me of all the beauty, creativity, and fun things that are around me.
